Code of Conduct

F.A. Hrvatska Zora would like to welcome you to a new and exciting year which promises to teach each and every member the culture of their Croatian heritage through song, dance and instruments.

Enrolment:

Enrolment into Hrvatska Zora is open to anyone born in 2015 or before.

Enrolment forms must be filled in upon arrival on the first day of attendance, to ensure that the correct information is obtained to keep you up to date on events and further information.

Fees:

One member $300 or $400 for two or more members in the same family.

Fees are to be paid no later than the end of the second school term in way of cash or EFT to the following account:

Rehearsal Dancers:

Small group (Maleni) and Middle group (Pripremni): every Monday night at 6.30 – 8.00pm

Big group (Kvalitetni): every Monday night at 8.00 – 10.00pm

Rehearsal Orchestra:

Beginners: every Monday night at 6.30pm – 8.00pm

Current Orchestra: every Monday night at 8.00pm – 10.00pm

Rehearsal times are permanent but may be subject to change upon availability and performance schedules. Leading up to performances there may be additional rehearsals required throughout the week.

If for some reason you are unable to make it on time or at all to a rehearsal session; it is advised that the teacher is contacted and made aware.

Holidays:

Generally, no classes are held over Victorian school holidays.

However, if it is deemed necessary, rehearsals may be scheduled during these times. You will be advised appropriately.

Costumes:

Hrvatska Zora provides all costumes, (nošnje) for performances. Including accessories such as necklaces, shawls, hats etc.

All of these items are original and authentic; they are to be looked after as if they were your own items of clothing.  After every performance they are to be checked off by a designated person and correctly folded and put away by the member.

Instruments:

Hrvatska Zora provides all instruments to each player at the start of the year.

All of these items are original and authentic; they are to be looked after as if they were your own items. Instruments will need to be returned at the end of the year.

Fundamentals for performances:

In addition to the costumes provided by the club, each child is expected to have their own essential ‘kit’ that they need to complete their look.

For Girls in Maleni and Pripremni this includes:

  • White stockings
  • Black jiffy’s
  • Red lipsticks
  • Facial wipes and tissues would also be advised for the removal of make-up
  • Black hair ties
  • Bobby pins
  • Hair spray
  • White underwear

Note: Hair will need to be slicked down, so there are no flyaway pieces with hair spray and or gel.

Boys in Maleni and Pripremni:

  • White socks
  • White Underwear
  • Black shoes- no runners

All members will be advised of performances via newsletter or during rehearsal.  All details including meeting time, location, etc will be given accordingly.

Practice Policy:

To ensure the safety and education of all members please ensure the following policies are read, understood and followed at ALL TIMES.

  1. No chewing gum is to be had during proba, and inside the hall.
  2. All hair is to be tied back and all fringes are to be off faces.
  3. Runners are to be worn at all times. **No thongs, sandals etc, are accepted.**
  4. Un-necessary talking during proba will not be tolerated and dealt with accordingly.
  5. Members are to be punctual to all practices and performances.
  6. Parents are to be seated in the back room next to the kitchen and not where proba is held. This ensures full attention of each member.
  7. Bullying is not accepted. (Please see below for further info.)
  8. Please bring all song notes and advised materials to classes.

Member Code of Conduct: BULLYING

F.A HRVATSKA ZORA DOES NOT ACCEPT BULLYING.

• Bullying, meaning engaging in written or verbal expression, expression through electronic means, or physical conduct that occurs on the property, or even at a functions that F.A Hvatska Zora attends this further;

(1) has the effect or will have the effect of physically harming a student, damaging a member’s property, or placing them in reasonable fear of harm to the person or of damage to their property;
(2) is sufficiently severe, persistent, and pervasive that the action or threat creates an intimidating, threatening, or abusive educational environment for a member;
(3) exploits an imbalance of power between the member and the victims through written or verbal expression or physical conduct; and
(4) interferes with a members learning or substantially disrupts the operation of the class.

• Cyberbullying, at or away from dancing practice, defined as the use of the Internet, cell phones, or other devices to send, post, or text-message images and material intended to hurt or embarrass another student. This may include, but is not limited to, continuing to send email to someone who has said he or she wants no further contact with the sender; sending or posting threats, sexual remarks, or derogatory labels (i.e., hate speech); ganging up on victims by making them the subject of ridicule in electronic forums and posting false statements as fact intended to humiliate another student; disclosure of personal data such as another student’s real name, address, or school on Web sites or forums to embarrass or harass; posing as another student for the purpose of publishing material in his or her name that defames or ridicules him or her; sending threatening and harassing text, instant messages, or emails to another; and posting or sending rumors or gossip to incite others to dislike and/or gang up on the target, which is determined to have a material and substantial interference with school activities or with the rights of students.

Bullying and Other Types of Harassment:

The district encourages all members, parents, teachers and committee to foster a climate of mutual respect for others in order to enhance the district’s educational purpose and the program designed to achieve that purpose. Each member is expected to respect the rights and privileges of other members, teachers, and visitors.

Members shall not engage in harassment motivated by age, race, color, ancestry, national origin, sex, handicap or disability, marital status, religion, political affiliation, sexual orientation, gender identity and/or gender expression and directed toward another student. A substantiated charge of harassment against a student shall result in disciplinary action. The term “harassment” includes repeated, unwelcome, and offensive slurs, jokes, or other oral, written, graphic, or physical conduct relating to an individual’s race, color, religion, national origin, or disability that creates an intimidating, hostile, or offensive educational environment. The term also includes threatening to cause harm or bodily injury to another member, subjecting another student to physical confinement or restraint, or maliciously taking any action that substantially harms another member’s physical or emotional health or safety. 

Retaliation against any person, including a victim, a witness, or another person, who in good faith provides information concerning an incident of bullying is prohibited.

Members who believe they have been harassed by fellow students are encouraged to promptly report such incidents to Andrijana Dorinko or Berislav Vidakovic ASAP.

Final Note:

We at Hrvatska Zora are glad to have each and every member that is a part of this group. We pride ourselves in the “family” aspect that we upkeep and strive to have a great friendly and happy environment not only during rehearsal hours, but also with after hour’s fun.
